Rain Garden in Tarnowskie Góry

The “Rain Garden” project was carried out in 2021 by the Veolia Polska Foundation and several Veolia Group companies in the “Przyjaźń” Residential Quarter in Tarnowskie Góry.

Rain gardens make it possible to manage rainwater and counteract drought efficiently.

Rain gardens make it possible to efficiently manage rainwater and counteract drought. They are also a perfect example of a green investment. The appropriate substrate and selected plants filter air, produce oxygen and collect rainwater, which irrigates deeper layers of the soil instead of running off, thus increasing the groundwater level and air humidity. The rain garden retains water in the ecosystem, counteracting drought, which is particularly importance during extended periods without rain.
